Have you ever heard of the Twelve Colonies?

No. There's a thirteen colonies in my home country, but no twelve.

They're planets; not states. [He remembers that little history lesson, and how alarmingly close the parallels between his home and Earth have turned out to be. He's still not sure what to make of any of it. He and Gaius had almost reached a kind of peace, talking about it... before he had found out how much of a role Gaius had played in the Colonies' destruction.

Maybe, he realizes, without Gaius here -- maybe no one knows about his home anymore. He's not sure how to feel about that, either.]

I'm... from a world called Picon. It was a fishing planet, mostly. I guess it doesn't really matter anymore.

In what galaxy? [Or universe, but this early in an interaction she prefers to think they may at least have that in common. She certainly doesn't know about his home; but he likely doesn't know about hers either, and that doesn't necessarily indicate anything.]

Why wouldn't it matter anymore? Is it gone?
