We don't have enough food for more than one meal out here. Anyone with experience tracking or hunting game animals, contact me. Some of us need to keep from starving.

[Locked to Inmates]
[She just shakes her head, not damning but definitely not approving either.] Seriously, you guys? I understand your enthusiasm but this is a superpowered circle-jerk of the highest degree.

[Locked to Warden Friends]
[That Look is in Beatrix's eyes again, the kill-or-be-killed cruelty she's fixed on enemies so many times before. She's obviously tense, determined and on her guard even though she's still in the safety of the caves with her sword strapped to her back.]

I'm patrolling the caves and a perimeter around them to help defend against anyone with ill intent and I'd like the safety in numbers from one of you coming with me. You who can't, if you see anything dangerous or meet someone you shouldn't, I'll help. Just contact me and I'll be there.

Backdated to three days after the Overlook port.

[Locked to Friends (if she's ever told you anything personal, you're on here)]

That port was fucked up for everyone and it hit all of us hard. After going through that I know most of you aren't feeling up to par yet, but when I get anxious, I get antsy. I've laid low to lick my wounds long enough. For the next few hours I'll be playing pool and pretending everything's normal if you've got the energy or inclination to join me.

[Spam, Level 6]

[Rack the balls in the pyramid, set the cue-ball, chalk the cue evenly, line up the shot, break it; Beatrix repeats the pattern over and over again, sinking balls into the table's pockets before starting anew. It's not for practice or any particular love of the game, it's not even for fun. It's just that playing strikes that perfect balance of skilled focus and monotony that allows her to zone out, and the last thing she wanted to do right now was let her mind wander. It was already hard enough to push the images of Sarah and that thing in room 217's bathroom from the forefront of her mind – what she needed, wanted, was someone to talk to, distract her.

But no matter how deeply you repress it, you can't squelch a thought. So by all means, join her, but take care if you point out that she's humming "Love Me Tender."

[Private – to Steve Rogers]
Sorry to bother you, but my warden can't exactly help me with this. You're the one I talk to about using the gym, right?

[Private – to Kon]
Have you got a minute? I wanted to ask you something.

[And afterward; Public]
Hey Barge, Beth here.

There's been a little interest in it lately, so I thought I'd offer. For the last month or so Kon and I have been training together – it's a mix of meditation and basic martial arts. It's strictly beginner stuff, since I don't know enough to teach anything too advanced, but if anyone's interested we usually meet in the gym before breakfast. If there's a lot of interest and that doesn't work for people, we can talk about changing the meeting time. Warden or inmate, experienced or not, you're welcome to stop on by.
deadliestviper: (surprise visit)
[This time when the video turns on, Beatrix is well-groomed and polished; she's dressed in a very feminine suit with a nametag reading BETH S. on the lapel, is wearing makeup, and her hair is pulled back in a ponytail. Her smile is bright, easy, and full. In both name and deed, she's here on Official Business.]

Ahoy! – That's the right terminology, right? I've never been on one of these things before. [She winces, a little self-deprecatingly.] Uh, anyway, hello there, I thought I'd better introduce myself since I'm going to be working with a few of you. My name's Beth Solberg, I'm a social worker, and I'm just here to check in on the staff and residents, ask a few questions, basically make sure everything on the Barge here is up to snuff.

So yes, I'll be speaking with a few of you. Let me assure you, you don't have to answer any questions you don't want to. I'm not here to interrogate, I just want to get the gist of the situation. And it is an unusual situation here, so any comments, complains, you've got about the place, this is the time to talk.

I'm setting up shop in the – what's this place called? That's it, library, no special term? Okay – I'm in the library for the next day, just stop on in. [She pauses, lifting a pen to her lips as she consults a clipboard.] Oh, and I've got a couple people I need to check in with – newer ones specifically. If none of you mind doing this in reverse alphabetical order, may I speak to a... Ms. Reese?

[OOC: So since I forgot to say earlier, this flood B.B. got marginalized. Beatrix still got pregnant, still had the baby, just never hid her pregnancy from Bill or ran away to Texas. As such she's still very much an active member of the Assassination Squad, with the events of the movie never happening. The social work thing? Just a ruse to get in the same room with her current target Natasha.]
deadliestviper: (glass of water please?)
[The screen switches on, revealing a face caked in dirt, covered in dust, streaked with sweat, and smeared with blood. A pair of troubled, if clear, blue eyes look out from it, and then there's a shake of the head, followed by a swirl of long, messy blonde hair – underneath all the grime, the new arrival's a female. She gives a bright smile, the sight slightly disarming on such a gritty face.]

Hi. [Her voice cracks when she speaks and she coughs, then clears her throat.]

Sorry to bother you folks, but it appears I've got some new business to attend to and I'm a little out of sorts. [Her smile turns apologetic, a little self-deprecating. It might be cute if she didn't look like an adult female approximation of Peanuts' Pigpen.] If one of you would be so kind as to point me toward the showers, I'd be in your debt.

[One last thing: her voice lowers, the sparkle gone from her eyes.] Budd... If you're here, I'll find you.
