[The screen flicks on and catches a blur of black and white, the camera clearly turned away from whoever is holding it. It catches the image of a man's hand, the skin rough and wrinkled, wrapped loosely around the hilt of a katana bearing the image of a demon. The voice, when it begins speaking, is male and American and languid, somehow both experienced and calming in its inflections.] Once upon a time, there was a wonderful young woman with a knack for getting into trouble. Now, this lady was not only beautiful, she was intelligent, and passionate, and skilled – and lucky. Very lucky. Lucky enough to rise to the attention of some very powerful people, and lucky enough to become one of them. But luck only holds so far, and runs out entirely when you buck fortune. Eventually, for whatever reason, the young lady decided to run off from those close to her. As one might expect, her friends were... unhappy to receive this news. As clever as the lady was she hadn't disappeared completely and as her erstwhile companions closed in on her, her luck began to run out. The story is long, and like most long stories it has its unpleasant parts. Now, I won't bore you with the details, but suffice to say that tragedy befell the girl. Trouble found her again, and she ended up caught – in one of the strangest prisons imaginable, no less. Unfortunately, I don't know the rest of the story, and I'd much appreciate it if someone would fill me in. How have you all been treating that lady?
