That's what's called a preemptive strike. My recommendation, if you don't want jackholes up in your business, is to filter your network so you don't see, hear, or read anything going on but my crap. I'll filter you out of my general network shit, if you want. That way, I can tell you when it's safe and people aren't whining anymore.

I'd rather be someone you trust than someone who's your damned jailer. You want off this boat as much as I want you to succeed getting off this fucked up boat. Trust is the only way out. Treating your inmate like they're scum is a shitty way to show encouragement.

Then it takes years. You can't put a limit on how fast you do this. Arthas has been here the longest out of everyone. [She shrugs.]

I know I'll try to be here as long as it takes -- and I believe you can graduate. After you do, you can make your own deal. No matter what anyone else might say, you are fully capable of doing this.

I'm still not even sure what graduating means. If I even knew what to trust the Admiral with, I'd make a deal for my kid. But I don't.

Say what you will, but the Admiral, when it comes to deals, does keep his promises. Talk to Rhade or anyone else who's been an inmate and has come back to Warden.

I've got my moments where I'm not so sure about it myself, but it's not as if anyone has a choice. At the end of the day, we all gotta do our best to get the fuck off this damned boat. So, either you work hard at it and pay the ferryman his coin or you stay until you realize you've been holding the damned coin all along. This process is only as shitty as you make it.

You'll get there, B. There's gonna be setbacks and gains, just like life, but you'll get there. It doesn't matter what work he wants. How you get there isn't the issue, that you get there? Yeah. That's the important shit, right there.
