This is Beatrix Kiddo. If there's a warden near the 5th floor, starboard side, I could use a hand. There's a new inmate here who's overreacting a bit.

[The Barge has never partiularly agreed with Beatrix and she's even shorter-tempered after losing and regaining her sanity in quick succession, then listening to voices from home. The ship's got no shortage of drawbacks and stressors, but it has given B an opportunity to beat a man and hogtie him with her sweater, and damn it, that's worth something.]

If you want to weasel your way out of that, go ahead. I don't mind bruising up your face again.

For future reference it doesn't have to be one or the other, but no, I'm not high. There's a dragon in the library and a genetically engineered living weapon in my hallway. Don't lose your shit over it.

[He looks over at Beatrix, not really sure what to think of the woman who'd apparently killed Steph while losing her mind in port, and trying to put the overprotective sibling feelings aside for the time being.] What happened?

[She's restrained instead of killing a man, perhaps that should earn some brownie points -- plus she doesn't want to repeat last week's mistakes. Funny how the people with the strongest feelings about Steph's death are the ones who weren't directly involved.]

This one found another new inmate and started choking him out. Apparently he was panicking over something I won't believe.

[Shane for his part sucks in a breath and speaks in a slow southern drawl.]

Dick raises an eyebrow at "walkers", but ignores him for the time being, looking back at Beatrix.] Thanks for stopping him. The other guy okay?

[Point taken. After all, she's pretty much doing the same over her family.]

He's not dead. I can't verify anything beyond that.

I didn't hurt him. [much. Shane rolls his eyes] I put him in a choke hold and knocked him down.

Shouldn't...sneak up on a man when he's tryin' to get the lay of the land. I thought he was a walker.

[And again he used the term Dick wasn't familiar with, so he just nodded.]

Thanks. I'll get him down to Zero.

Probably the best idea. [Her conscience reminds her she ought to volunteer herself for Zero as well, but hell if she was going to incriminate herself and share a cellblock with this guy.]

Relax, we haven't forgotten about you. Which reminds me, I want my sweater back. [She leans down to untie the knots around Shane's ankles, which have unfortunately stretched out the sleeves, but uses the slack to double the ties around his wrists.]
